Teluk Ijo Beach, also known as Green Bay Banyuwangi, is a popular tourist destination. The hidden paradise is another name for green bay. Because the area is surrounded by hills, you must travel through the forest to reach this beautiful beach. GREEN BAY BEACH LOCATION
Green Bay is located in Sarongan village, Pesanggaran sub-district. It is approximately 90 kilometers from Banyuwangi and 26 kilometers from Pesanggaran. It takes about 3 hours to get there from Banyuwangi.
To be able to access Teluk Hijau, visitors can take private vehicles or family cars to Sarongan Village and then change jeeps or troopers to get to Teluk Ijo. Because the route is quite steep and rocky.
What’s more, visitors will be spoiled with views of rubber, cocoa, and sugar cane plantations in Sarongan Village. Sarongan Village is part of the Cattle Cattle plantation area. The road has been paved, so it’s easy to get there; perhaps only a few kilometers remain unpaved. Visitors must register to enter this area.
ACCESS TO GREEN BAY BEACH
Visitors will enter the footpath from the parking lot. Visitors can enjoy the beauty of the beach from above before making their way down to the beach through the gaps in the trees. Then, visitors will walk for about 45 minutes on a downhill and dirt road. As a result, visitors must exercise caution because the road is slick. Nonetheless, ropes are provided for visitors to hold on to and not fall.
When visitors arrive below, they will be met with a rocky beach rather than a sandy beach. Along the coastline, there are rocks. Visitors must still walk for approximately 1 kilometer along the coastline until they reach a small hill. Even though the road appears to be easy, visitors must be physically fit to reach Green Bay.
There is an entrance between the bushes once you reach the hill/cliff at the end of the beach. Visitors are only then allowed to enter the bush. Visitors will be awestruck as soon as they enter the Green Bay beach area.
If visitors lack energy or are in poor physical condition. Visitors can use sea access, specifically fishing boats, via Mustika Beach or Red Island. However, make certain that the weather is also favorable.
THE BEAUTY OF GREEN BAY BEACH
As soon as visitors enter the beach area, they will be treated to a breathtaking view. Beautiful cliffs with a height of about 7-9 meters, sea with Tosca blue to dark blue gradations, soft white sand, crashing waves, and green forests that surround the beach area.

- If you are driving a regular car, you must switch to a tropper/jeep/motorcycle.
- Sun protection, such as hats, sunglasses, and long-sleeved clothing
- Make sure you have enough stamina because the walk back to the parking lot will be exhausting.
- Wear non-slippery shoes/sandals.
- Bring plenty of drinking water, as the return journey will be tiring and thirsty.
- If you bring food and drinks, bring a trash can to avoid polluting the beach area.
- It is prohibited to swim too far to the center unless accompanied by a guide.
- Visit Teluk Ijo beach in the morning until noon so you don’t spend the night in the forest.
- Guard belongings against roaming monkeys.
- If you bring small children, don’t let it get out of reach.
